The Purple Cow

Last weekend after Rockin' Railroad at Kidville, Reid got a special little treat.  We walked down the breezeway to The Purple Cow for a yummy brunch and for his first visit with the Easter bunny this season.

I wrote about it on a post here at Dallas Moms Blog as well.

Reid!

For months now, all of Reid's little classmates have been saying his name.  They all say "Reid!" when daddy drops him off in the morning, and according to his teachers, they say it throughout the day as well.

Just one little problem, Reid has refused to say his own name.  Guess he was just holding out some of his cuteness for a later date.

Yesterday when mommy picked him up from school, his teacher said that he'd been saying his name all day long.  He graced us with his new found skill at home too.  Can you tell his parents get excited every time he says it?

Dress Up

The boy loves to play dress up, and in particular {to daddy's dismay} he loves mommy's turquoise scarf. He also loves all shoes - his shoes, daddy's shoes, & even mommy's shoes. It's one of his favorite words to say too - shoes!

As you can see from our dress up session below, daddy threw in an age appropriate ball cap {in case you can't read it...it says "Drink Naked/Naked Mountain Winery"}.  Just a little boost of masculinity for the boy.  :)

Reality Sets In

The twin-littles' nursery furniture arrived last week.

Many thanks goes out to their grandmas & grandpas for hooking the boys up with their first set of bedroom furniture!

We are so grateful!

Before daddy got a hold of them...

And after daddy got a hold of them.

If the sight of TWO cribs side by side isn't a reality check, then I don't know what is (well, maybe I can think of one or two things...coming in June ;).

Cute Feet?

I'm sure many would think that "cute feet" is an oxymoron, but when you're a mom and they are your baby's feet, I'd suggest otherwise.

Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, but I find Reid's new favorite way to sit in his highchair to be the cutest thing ever!

He's saying "S" in this picture.  It was their letter of the day at school, and it was all he wanted to talk about.
But he did take a second to tell us how old he is.

Ella & Wells Turn ONE!

Reid had two birthday party invitations on Saturday, but sadly the first one fell right in the middle of his nap time.  Sorry we missed your 3rd birthday party, Slade-man! Let's schedule a play date soon to make up for it.

After nap time, we bundled up and headed to Main Street Garden in downtown Dallas to help celebrate with Ella & Wells.  Their mom, Kourtny, is my sorority little sister. Jeff says twins must run in the "family!" I guess so... ;)

Although Reid has been to his fair share of parks and playgrounds, they are always tucked away in neighborhoods where there's not a lot of "city" action.

This park was quite different.

It brought to life all the wonderful things he loves from his favorite books - planes, trains, busses, trucks, dogs, kites & so much more.  He was fascinated by his surroundings, and all he wanted to do was run up and down the grassy knoll and point to all the wonderful sights.  It was fun to watch him get so excited about everything.

Many thanks to daddy for doing most of the "chasing" around of the boy.  It gave mommy a chance to catch up with some of her very favorite girlfriends from college.

If I gained nothing else from Austin College ;), I certainly gained wonderful, life-long friendships that I will always cherish.  I take for granted how fantastic my friends are sometimes...and a girl "moment in time" like pregnancy will remind you how truly grateful you are to have such supportive girlfriends!

Taking it all in....

Big & small...there were "woof woofs" everywhere!

He's clapping for himself because he gave the puppy "soft touches."
Sweet birthday girl - Ella Lane.  Melts my heart!
Can you see what he's pointing at in the sky?  One of these flew by just about every 10 minutes.  He was thrilled by every one of them!

Adorable birthday boy - Wells Liam
 Daddy power!

Look at that little diva - Ashlyn used to go to the same school as Reid so we'd get to see her often.  Her mommy "stays home" with her little tikes now, so we hadn't seen Ash in a while.  She's all grown up!  And her sweet, baby brother (9 months) has eyelashes that will make you swoon.  So cute!
 Kourt & her boy
Does it get any more precious than this?  I said, "smile Lainey" and she busted out with the perfect smile and pose.
Someone likes to make himself dizzy!
And he wanted to make Lainey dizzy too!  Dad had to hold him back.
Apparently, this little nugget is fun for kids of ALL ages!

The Fur Babies

Ever since the day we found out we were having twins, we've been on the lookout for ways to simplify and streamline our lives.

So this week we tried out Pet Love, the mobile groomer, for the pups.  They were in dire need of some TLC.  Halley had a cyst removed from her eye lid in January, so we wanted her to heal fully before their next grooming.

Let's just say that Pet Love had their work cut out for them!

Not only did they squeeze us in last minute, but their van drives right up to your house, the groomer comes to the door to get the pups (we had sweet Anna this time), takes them to her van, and upon their return (about 3 hours later), voila!  Our little beauties are all cleaned, plucked, expressed & freshly groomed.

Doesn't get much easier than that!
