Memorial Day Weekend

So much for going into labor the weekend of May 18th!  

Before we knew it, we made it through the work week, and Memorial Day weekend was upon us.  

At my weekly OB appointment on the Friday before Memorial Day, I was 90% effaced and 3cm dilated!  Due to the fact that I'd be 38.5 weeks pregnant by the Tuesday after the long weekend, my OB decided that it was high time to schedule an induction since there are many medical reasons not to let a twin pregnancy go past 39 weeks gestation.  

Although I love the OB who was on call over the weekend, I really wanted to hold off until my induction day (since I was so close anyway) so that my wonderful OB could deliver our boys.  Only time would tell...

Needless to say, this may be the first time ever that I was not looking forward to a 3 day weekend.  And true to form, it seemed to draaaag on and on!

Last Weekend Before Twin-Littles Arrive?

Weekend of May 18th
Based on the size of my belly, we suspected that this could be our last weekend before the twin-littles arrived, so we decided it was a good time to have a mini stay-cation at home with our little family of 3.
Other than a 5 minute drive to purchase a fun water table for Mr. Reid, we stayed home all weekend (which is all mom really wanted to do!).
Major kudos go to our Super Dad who managed our boy and the majority of the house stuff so that mom could take a LOAD off!  Thanks honey...you're the BEST!

Scary Daddy!

In an attempt to stall for a few more days while I work to finish up several VIP blog posts from the last couple of weeks, here's a little video to prove that daddies can be scary sometimes!

Our Family of Three

Aunt Lanie was gracious enough to provide one last photo shoot of our little family of three.  It was late in the day (after school and work), but she still managed to get some smiles out of the boy.

Dinner with Our Only Child

Wouldn't you know, just as our only child is getting better at the "eating out" process (no iPad needed on this occasion), we're getting ready to add two more little rascals to the Andersen fam.  

I wonder if we'll ever be able to go out to eat again?!?!  ;)

 

 

As you will see from this video, the boy wasn't too fond of the horse ride. My favorite part of the video is when he says, "Bye neigh neigh."  That's his way of saying bye to the horse in an attempt to convey to his parents that he is DONE with this little game!
