Dolfin Swim School

For several reasons {top 3 being location, location, location}, we recently switched swim schools.

Weekday evenings are already a hectic time...throw in a swim class that is a 20 minute drive from school in the opposite direction of home, and you have yourself a recipe for the ever-dreaded toddler MELTDOWN

Reid now goes to Dolfin Swim School, and it's right across the street from his school! We've been there for a month now.  It was a little rough at the beginning {= lots of crying}, but he seems to have adjusted like a champ.

Aunt Jamye was in town during last week's class, and she was gracious enough to be our photographer.   She had to take pictures from the guest waiting area behind a large window, so kudos on a job well done, sis!

This is Reid's favorite gesture right now.

Road Trip

Last weekend, we piled into the car and headed south to New Braunfels for my cousin Jimmy's {and his lovely wife Ashley's} wedding reception.

First order of business on Friday, lunch with Great Aunt Lorraine, Great Uncle Bobby & Cousin Kristi {Cousin William was at school}.

Our visit wouldn't be complete without a mini photo shoot compliments of Great Aunt Lorraine!

My little ham
Love this one!

After our visit with the Aguirres, we headed north to New Braunfels.  Uncle James rented an awesome "Penthouse" so the family could be together for Jimmy's & Ashley's wedding reception weekend.

It was wonderful!
Cousin Penny is due in February, and this time...it's a BOY!
 Sisters
The picture below may not appear to be blog-worthy, but I'm including it because this is Reid's very first {and hopefully last for a while} fast food meal.  Actually, it was just a few pieces of chicken nuggets which I'm happy to report he didn't like very much.

We were eating on-the-go from New Braunfels back to Dallas on Sunday.

The boy is still not a very good car traveler {needs constant entertainment}, but we were lucky enough to have Aunt Jamye along for the ride back.  That made the road trip much more pleasurable.  Thanks Aunt Jamye!

Train Table

Daddy & I rarely buy toys for the boy because he gets plenty of them as gifts from our family and friends (for which we're oh-so-grateful!).

Recently, we noticed he has outgrown many of his toys (aka. is bored with them), so after several recommendations from friends, we decided to get him a Train Table.

Best decision ever!  The boy loves it!  He'll entertain himself for up to 20 minutes at a time.  Yes, that's a record!

Bonus:  mom and dad even like playing with it too!

This is the train table right after dad set it up...possibly the only time it'll be in perfect, pristine order.
Next morning:  Love at first sight!
First order of business - bang the trains together, of course.
 Success!
In other news - another attempt at testing his boundaries....

Celebrating with Mommy

I'm a little behind on posting, but I didn't want to go without saying "thank you" to everyone who pitched in to make my birthday grand!  It was a wonderful weekend filled with family, some dear friends and lots of fun.

I am grateful for life's blessings.

I ADORE this little person!
Birthday girl or not...he wasn't much into group photos.

"Hmmm, do they see what I'm doing?"
So happy that he gets to do something that he realizes he probably shouldn't be doing.
Birthday brunch at the new mediterranean restaurant in our neighborhood.
Yum!

Playground Fun

He still swoons over the swings, but the boy's found a newfound playground love in the slides!

Happy 15 Months!

He's still my baby boy, but I know in my heart that who we've really brought into this world is a wonderful man.

My prayer is that he continues to contribute to society in a loving & spiritual manner for as long as he shall live.

Happy 15 months my little man!

Reid's hand gesture after his sippy cup rolled under the couch.

"Where did it go?"
"Is it under here?"
 "I don't know."
 Drop it!!!
{in case you can't tell, that toy in the boy's mouth belongs to Hudson!}
