More Please!

Tapping your fingertips together like this:

Is sign language for "more."

Our sweet boy has finally learned the sign for "more" although his sign is any variety of hand gestures that are similar to the one above.  Even clapping seems to get his point across.  Ever since he learned it, he gets SO excited when he realizes that he's asking for something, and we're understanding {and obeying!}.  Love.

Evel Knievel

Why sit on it when you can stand on it?
And in case you're wondering, we did not teach the boy to do this.  He figured it out all by himself.

Parker's 1st Birthday Party

We attended Parker's 1st birthday party this past Saturday.

It was all things RAINBOW

Parker's mommy did a fabulous job...not surprising as one of her many talents is Party Planner Extraordinaire.  We had so much fun splashing in the pool, eating rainbow cake & playing with our wonderful friends from First Church.

Happy 1st Birthday, Parker!

Dads & their babes

The table spread...a rainbow wonderland full of yummy goodness!
 The Birthday Girl

These are the June {Reid}, July {Brooks} & August {Parker} babies from First Church.
 So happy!

My little yogi

Eka Pada Adho Mukha Svanasana {aka. One-legged downward facing dog}

Have I mentioned the boy likes to climb?

Getting out...
 ...and getting back in.
 Rainbow cake on the outside...
...and rainbow cake on the inside.  This cake was DELISH!  I don't think anyone refused a slice.
"Hey guys, I'm ready for MY cake now!"
Patiently waiting for the birthday song to end.
 Post blueberry binge
Sweet Sawyer
 Wait, more blueberries?!?!
Is it just me, or does he look all grown up in this photo?

14 Memorable Months

The Reid Report:
  • No more bottle!  He was down to only one bottle with milk right before bed time, but now he only drinks from a sippy cup.  He's also learning to drink from a real cup (dixie cup) at school.
  • Walking, running, climbing everywhere!  To the detriment of his mother, the boy loves to climb!
  • We typically start our bedtime routine around 7:00pm which puts him to bed by 7:30pm.  For the past week, he has consistently slept past 7:00am. He usually wakes up closer to 7:30am now.  With all the activity in his toddler room and only one nap {at school} during the day, he needs all the sleep he can get at night.
  • With the help of the school nap schedule, he's transitioning to one long nap per day at home as well (typically between 11:30 - 2:00ish)
  • The boy hates to have his diaper changed.  Jeff and I are becoming masters at the art of distraction.
  • He's learned to nod his head "yes," but of course he doesn't do this as often as he shakes his head "no."
  • He's discovered a love for the outdoors and the grass.  All of sudden, he likes walking around in the grass now.
  • He also loves to stand at the window (front or back) to watch his daddy work outside in the yard.
  • Favorite foods:  blueberries, tomatoes, watermelon, meatballs
  • Vocabulary:
    • Hi (accompanied by a wave...sometimes a two-handed wave)
    • Du-du (duck)
    • Tee-tee (teeth)
    • Ha-ee (Halley)
    • Dada or daddy
    • Mama
    • Nanna (banana)
    • No
  • Still only has 8 teeth, but he's showing all signs of teething.  We expect to have some new teeth "eruptions" soon!  Molars, please be nice to us!
  • If you catch him in the right mood, he'll run to your open arms and give you a BIG hug (we're still working on the kisses).  Melts.my.heart!
  • He loves to look at pictures and videos on computers and iphones.
  • Last but not least, our little boy is becoming a HAM for the camera.  I think we've created a monster!

Thank You, Mimi!

Dear Mimi,

Thank you for coming all the way to Dallas {and Fort Worth} to help take care of me during Aunt Amy's and Uncle Travis' wedding weekend.  I had SO much fun hanging out with you, and I miss you already!  Come back to visit me again soon.  I bet I'll be saying "Mimi" by then!  ;)

XOXO from your grandson,

Reid
