Dallas Zoo

Grandma & Grandpa Whetstone made a spur-of-the-moment trip to Dallas to attend a funeral on Friday. In an effort to make the most out of a sad situation, they decided to stay a couple of extra days to hang out with you-know-who!  :)

As it turned out we had beautiful weather today and it made for the perfect day for Reid's 1st trip to the Dallas Zoo.  As you will see from the far-too-many photos I've posted, he had a blast!

Singing "If you're happy & you know it" on the way to the zoo
 Measuring up (32")
Checking out the elephants with dad

Feeding the giraffes was the highlight of our day
He was a little timid at first...
...but he warmed up to them quickly.
And they warmed up to him as well!

Only a video would have done this moment justice, but since I was in photo mode only, I'll just have to tell you - I took the below photo a split second after our friendly giraffe LICKED Jeff's underarm!
You can see Reid's reaction right after Jeff let out a very manly yell.

Cheetah-watching
What a fun surprise!  We ran into Reid's friend, Larkin!
 Hello, kitty.

 Koi have BIG mouths!
 Feeding the goats

Taking a few minutes to chit chat
Getting ready for the Grand Finale!

Thanks for letting us share in Reid's first trip to The Dallas Zoo. It was so much fun watching the young warrior experience feeding the giraffes, goats and fish. You are right - the carousel was grand. Thanks for a wonderful visit. Hugs and Kisses.
