Super Bowl XLVIII

We gathered for our annual Super Bowl party with our Sunday school class.

Thankfully, we had plenty of entertainment to go around because the game will go down in history as one of the most boring ever (in my humble opinion)!

I didn't capture many quality photos, but here are a few that represent the evening festivities.

President's Day

As part of their annual fundraising effort, the local boy scout troop places a large American Flag in our front yard 7 times each year.  One of those occasions is President's Day.

Reid is recently enamored by the American Flag and The Pledge of Allegiance, so on the morning of President's Day we went out to pay our respects to our great country.

It only took three attempts for him to stay focused long enough to make it all the way through the pledge.

Happy Eight Months, Twin-Littles!

Jack would NOT stay on his side of the chair.  Miss Maggie kept trying to put him back in his corner, but he just kept leaning over onto Hunter's side.  I think he thought it was a game.
 "I'll show you, brother-brother!"

 Jack recently learned to clap.
Ready to start moving {forward} any day now!

Infant Recognition Sunday at First Church

As you may recall from this blog post in January of 2012, the Sunday after Reid's baptism was Infant Recognition Sunday.

In a similar turn of events, the Sunday after Jack & Hunter's baptism was Infant Recognition as well.

Infant Recognition Sunday is the day when the First Church congregation honors all the infants born or adopted during the previous year.

Just like with Reid, it was so refreshing and encouraging to be reminded of the beautiful and supportive church family we belong to.

And just like with Reid, we again had many friends standing at the chancel rail alongside us with their babies born in 2013 (but sadly I was only able to capture a photo of a couple of them and their babes).

We feel truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful group.

Ready for another round at the chancel rail (but exhausted because they missed their morning nap).

Reid dressed up for the occasion too (even though all his fun was had in the nursery!).
Thanks to a sweet friend, we were able to get a couple of snapshots of our little stars being honored by their church family.

Photo shoot with the boys in their Phoenix Coyotes hockey jerseys…compliments of the Brown Family.  We love you Chris, Candy, Christopher & Chase!

Such hams!
Someone likes big brother's chair!

In late January we had a power outage one evening just as we were beginning bath time with the boys.

Let's just say, without artificial light, it was pitch black in our house.

This is when improvisation kicks in.

Hunter was already in the bath tub filled with warm water when the power went out, so the other two ended up having to bathe in the same bath water lest they take a cold dip.  Reid thought it was SO fun bathing in the "baby" tub.

Thanks to battery backed up sound machines, iPhone flashlights & daddy's mega-manly flashlight, we got all three bathed, dressed & to bed within minutes of their regularly scheduled bed time.

Once all was right with the rug rats upstairs, we headed downstairs to resume our normally scheduled evening activities.  Well, sort of.  Fortunately, daddy had already prepared the "taco" portion of our taco salad, so dinner was practically ready and waiting for us.

Romantic, candlelight dinner in the middle of the week.  Why not?!? Fortunately, just as it was starting to get chilly in the house {around 11:00pm}, the power returned.

Our little soccer star showing off his matching socks from DeeDee and Grandpa Lou (and he's always quick to add "and Uncle Sean & Uncle Anthony too, mommy!").
Snow day!

For the record, this was the boy's idea!

MLK Day

Aunt Jenn didn't have to go back to Corpus until Monday afternoon following the baptism, so daddy and mommy took the day off work so we could spend the morning together.

The three of us took Reid to play at the (not-so) newly constructed Klyde Warren Park. This is the park that bridges (literally) downtown and uptown Dallas.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day for the park!

Reid says the sun is going to "tiiiimmme out" {to time out, for shining in his face!}.
He took it upon himself to arrange all the chairs around the table.

  Running with dad.

We capped off the morning with lunch at Savor.  It did not disappoint!
