I can't believe I have a three month old baby. But I do, and that baby is you. You, who I knew I'd adore even before you actually arrived. I just had no idea how overwhelming the emotions would actually be. I'm head over heels in love! The beautiful thing that I've learned quickly about a mother's love for her child(ren) is that no matter what - no matter how tough the day has been, no matter how little sleep she's had, no matter how many times you've spit up or pooped on her, no matter how much she loathes the breast pump, no matter the newfound hardships of motherhood - one look at your sweet, precious face erases all the worry, the self doubt, and the exhaustion. One look at you reminds ME how very blessed your dad and I are to have such an angel in our presence. You are our angel, and we will love you always.
Stay in the Light.
Love,
mommy
All things Reid:
- You've mastered the tongue game! You love it when people stick their tongues out, and you are now quick to follow suit. Yes, mommy is preparing herself to pay dearly one day for teaching you this trick.
- You are much better at following people and sounds with your eyes, and your viewing range has increased too. You enjoy the Head to Toe Baby Einstein DVD. Yes, we're letting you watch TV already. Bad, bad mommy & daddy!
- You love your new jumperoo! We anticipate many hours of happiness with that little toy.
- Sophie is your new best friend - whether it's in the car or at the changing table in your nursery, she's sure to bring smiles to your sweet face.
- You still love your high chair attached to the kitchen table (thank you, Nanny B!). With a few of your favorite toys, you'll sit nicely in your chair while we eat an entire meal. You'll even make it through clean up as well. Keep up the good work, little buddy!
- Surely you're not teething yet?!?! Maybe not, but you would think so based on all the slobber that comes out of your cute mouth. Just in the last few days, you have started slobbering a LOT!
- You're a crib rebel! You're not content staying where we put you at night. Although we don't use crib bumpers per the SIDS warnings, I can see why they could be needed. You often end up at the side of the crib with some part of your body bumped up to the edge, or you end up perpendicular to the long side of it (caught on camera below).
- You're learning to self soothe - slowly but surely - both with your fingers and sometimes with your thumb. If we could just get you to stop tucking that thumb under your fingers, we'd all be better off (especially at night!)....
- Because....you're no longer a swaddled baby! As we discussed here your Houdini skills have broken you free from the swaddle both figuratively and literally. You're our sleep sack baby now. :)
- We struggled with consistent napping early on, however, you're getting much better. You'll actually nap during the day in your crib for 30 minutes to an hour at a time.
- Your hair is growing! Mostly in the back resulting in threats from your dad that he's going to cut it off ("it" being a euphemism for what he really calls the long hair at the nape of your neck) which in turn results in threats from your mom warning of pending harm should he follow through with such a preposterous idea!
- You're wearing size 1 diapers, and now that we've made our way through all the gifted diaper brands, I think we've settled on Pampers Swaddlers as our fave.
- You had your first dip in the pool. It was close to dinner time and bed time, so you weren't overly excited, but you were definitely content in the water.
- Not sure I'm ready for a class clown, but you are certainly tracking as such. Of course, you're laughing all the time now, but the cutest thing you do is laugh, pause, wait for us to laugh and then laugh again. It's so funny to watch you look for our reaction. The more we laugh, the more it makes you laugh.
- You've mastered the "g" sound. We've been working on the word "go" as in "Go, Hudson, go!" I must say there have been several times when I could have sworn you said the word, but even if that's just my active imagination, you certainly have mastered the "g" sound itself. Often you like to transition the sound into a little giggle. Cute!
- And drum roll please....at three months of age you weigh 14.5 lbs! I think we're going to have to do something to slow this weight train down, my love!
~You & Sophie~
~Terrill, dad & you~
Contrary to the look on your face, you enjoyed your 1st dip in the pool.

I'm sure I'm not overly prejudiced, but you are TOTALLY the cutest baby around, except of course for your mom, dad, aunts and uncles when they were your size.
